Our Story

A place for the in-between hours

Hinterlands Bar was born from a simple observation: most neighborhoods have a place for coffee in the morning and a bar at night, but very few offer both with genuine attention. We wanted to build something that belonged to the full arc of the day.

Located on Church Avenue in the heart of Brooklyn, our space is designed to feel like a living room that happens to serve excellent drinks. The bar is built from reclaimed wood. The lighting is low and warm. The music is never the loudest thing in the room.

We source our coffee from roasters in Brooklyn and our spirits from small-batch distillers across the Northeast. The menu changes with the seasons, not the trends.
